Student Council Minutes for March 8, 2006
Unapproved
1. Microwave
• The microwave has been a great success so far. However, there needs to be a more constant source of paper plates available. Kelsey Dunn is going to get more and set them out to be used.
•
We were asked to move the microwave because it was disrupting the
teacher’s lunch. We moved it
further along the wall by the clock.
2. Dough for Joe
• Danielle is currently working on the piggy banks. She is making them out of shoeboxes, and then covering the boxes with paper. When she is finished, she will put then in the classrooms.
•
An announcement should be made to start collecting as soon as
possible. Along with the
announcement, Kelsey Dunn wrote a letter that is to go home informing parents
about the project.
3. Financial
Report
•
Madison told us at the meeting that we have $165.85.
The money most likely came from the bookstore and the recycling paper
project. That money might be used
for the upcoming social and talent show.
4. Paper
Recycling Project
• The classes should start coloring soon if we want to judge the boxes by Earth Day in April.
• The teachers will be informed about this and a copy of the rules will be given to them. Lila and Michael are making the final copy of the rules for the contest. The judges are still going to be chosen.
•
The winning class is probably going to win a pizza party.
5. The CCD
Breakfast
•
Danielle is making a chart up for this.
It has to have the price of everything, how much was purchased, and how
much was left over. If you bought
any of these things, tell Danielle so that she can record it.
6. The Thrift
Store
•
Team up with God teams will no longer be going to the store
because it is closing.
7. Social
• The social is scheduled for April 21, 2006. The themes are still being voted on, either Hawaiian or Pajamas. Danielle volunteered to see where it will be held, either the gym or the cafeteria… the cafeteria please!
•
The rest of the plans will be discussed at the next meeting.
8. Talent Show
• The talent show is going to be on May 24, 2006. However, if it rains on Olympic Day, May 23, 2006, the days will be switched.
• Kelsey Dunn is making the sign up sheet.
•
The judges will probably be Mrs. Seta, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Coyle, and
Mrs. Gallagher. However, we still
have to ask them if they would be willing to judge.
9. Suggestions
•
The St. Catherine website was brought up during the meeting.
The pictures need to be updated, the teacher’s page was not working,
and the holiday decorations on the website need to be updated.
We will have to see who is in charge of updating the website.
10. Next Meeting
• From now on the meetings will be the first Tuesday of the month, by request of Mr. Lonneman. Therefore, the meeting will be held on April 5, 2006.
